PBKS vs LSG, IPL 2026: Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer and other teammates couldn’t hold themselves back but laugh as Shashank Singh experienced a horror night on the field during the IPL 2026 match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Mullanpur. In a video surfaced on social media, Shreyas Iyer, who was fielding at the boundary line, broke into splits as did Musheer Khan, who was beyond the boundary line after Shashank’s fielding lapse. The cameras also focused on head coach Ricky Ponting, who was not happy with the errors.
PBKS vs LSG, IPL 2026: How many catches did Shashank Singh miss on the night?
Shashank, one of the most explosive batters the IPL has seen in recent times, put down a chance off Nicholas Pooran in the 14th over of the innings on the leg side but Marco Jansen dismissed the West Indian an over later. The second chance in the 18th over of the innings as the right-handed batter badly misjudged the ball, thinking it would sail well over the boundary but it landed barely inside.
The third catch missed by the 34-year-old was in the 19th over sent down by Xavier Bartlett as he shelled it running from deep square leg.

PBKS vs LSG, IPL 2026: How did Ricky Ponting react after the match?
As much as Ponting wore a concerned look at Punjab Kings’ fielding lapses, he hugged Shashank after the match. However, the former Aussie captain could likely have a chat with the batting all-rounder and the entire team about catching.

PBKS vs LSG, IPL 2026: Punjab Kings stay undefeated after carnage from Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly
Having smashed the season’s highest total of 254, Punjab Kings stormed to a big 54-run win to stay unbeaten in IPL 2026. While Prabhsimran Singh perished for a golden duck in the very first over, Cooper Connolly and Priyansh Arya went hammer and tongs against the Super Giants. The two stitched a partnership of 182 off only 81 deliveries, with Arya smashing 93 and Connolly clobbering 87. Although PBKS lost Connolly, Arya and Iyer in quick succession, the finishers ensured to take their side to 254 in 20 overs.
In response, the Super Giants got the start they wanted but never seemed in control of the required run-rate as some excellent defensive bowling from PBKS made the task steeper with time. Cameos from Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant and Aiden Markram took LSG to their first 200+ total of the season. Arya received the Player of the Match award for his 37-ball 93.
