Arvind Kejriwal: CBI’s petition in Delhi liquor scam will be heard again tomorrow in Delhi High Court. The accused in the case, former CM Arvind Kejriwal, will appear through video conferencing. Aam Aadmi Party convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will appear before the Delhi High Court for the fourth time tomorrow at 10:30 am through video conferencing in the matter of removal of Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma from the hearing of the excise case and change of judge. During this time he will request the court to take his answer on record.

In fact, last week Arvind Kejriwal had tried to file an affidavit related to the children of Justice Swarnakanta Sharma. However it was not taken on record. Whereas Kejriwal himself appeared in the court and also made a humble request to the court. Now CBI has filed its reply on the affidavit of Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal wants to file his rejoinder on that reply.

In this matter, Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj said that it is a matter of regret that the counter affidavit of Arvind Kejriwal is not being accepted on record. He said that if Kejriwal’s applications, affidavits and replies are not taken on record, then how will justice be achieved? He told that hence tomorrow at 10:30 am, Arvind Kejriwal will once again appear in the court through video conferencing and request the court to take his counter-reply on record.

Accusation of bias against Justice Swarnakanta Sharma

Many acquitted people, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, had filed an application to recuse Justice Swarnkanta Sharma from hearing the case, fearing bias against him. Kejriwal himself presented the arguments in the court on his petition. CBI had opposed Arvind Kejriwal’s arguments. After hearing all the parties, the court had reserved the decision. Arvind Kejriwal says that he has filed his counter affidavit in the case, but it was not taken on record.

23 accused including Kejriwal acquitted

Let us tell you that on February 27, Special Judge Jitendra Singh of Rouse Avenue Court had acquitted 23 accused including Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia. Besides, questions were also raised on the agency’s method of investigation. CBI had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against the decision of the trial court, which is being heard by Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma. On the agency’s demand, Justice Swarnakanta Sharma had stayed the trial court’s comments and the trial of the ED case.
