Went. The government has taken a big step towards making women self-reliant in Bihar. Beneficiary women are soon going to get the second installment under the Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana, which is expected to provide financial strength to lakhs of families.
The main objective of this scheme is to encourage women for self-employment and empower them economically. In the first phase, an assistance amount of Rs 10,000 has been given to the eligible women, whereas now, Rs 20,000 will be given as the second installment to the women who meet the prescribed standards.
Payment will be made in three phases
The second installment will be paid as per a fixed procedure. First verification will be done at the village organization level, after which evaluation will be done at the block level. In the final phase, the amount will be sent directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT, so that transparency is maintained.
Lakhs of women got benefits
Till now lakhs of women in the state have received the first installment under this scheme. A large number of women have started small businesses using this amount. Women are increasing the income of their families through fruit-vegetable shops, tailoring-embroidery, grocery stores, animal husbandry and other activities.
Strong step towards self-reliance
This scheme is not limited to just financial help, but is also becoming a medium to make women confident and self-reliant. In the coming time, more assistance will be made available in a phased manner, so that women’s businesses can expand.
