Heartbreaking accident in Jammu and Kashmir: Bus falls from hill in Kanote village of Ramnagar, 7 killed, many injured

Udhampur/Jammu. A horrific road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Monday morning left several families in mourning. A public bus full of passengers going from Ramnagar to Udhampur fell down a hill near Kanote village on the Ramnagar-Udhampur highway. 7 people died in this accident, while many other passengers were injured.

The accident was so severe that there was an outcry on the spot. The passengers in the bus were going from Ramnagar to Udhampur. As soon as information about the accident was received, the local administration, police and rescue team reached the spot. The injured were immediately admitted to nearby hospitals, while arrangements are being made to airlift seriously injured persons.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh expressed concern

Giving information about this accident on X (formerly Twitter), Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said that he has spoken to Udhampur Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa. He wrote that the bus going from Ramnagar to Udhampur has met with an accident in Kanote village and a rescue operation is being conducted.

The minister has instructed the administration to immediately provide better treatment to the injured and investigate the cause of the accident.

Rescue work continues

The rescue operation is going on rapidly at the incident site. The injured are being taken out with the help of police and local people. The administration has made emergency arrangements in hospitals so that treatment of the injured can start immediately.

This accident is believed to have happened due to bad roads in the hilly area and possibly overspeeding or carelessness of the driver. Police has started the investigation of the matter.
