Noida/Lucknow. The Labor Department has once again taken strict steps regarding the interests of workers in Uttar Pradesh. Amidst the new pay scale and double overtime payment rules implemented from April 1, the department has now issued a new instruction, in which it has been asked to pay double the overtime done before April 1. Also, instructions have been given to ensure this payment within 24 hours.
Strict adherence to the rules already in force
The Labor Department says that the provision of double overtime payment is not new, but it is an already existing rule. Now its strict compliance is being ensured. The department has warned that if the rules are not followed, action can be taken up to cancellation of registration.
Displeasure in the industry
Entrepreneur organizations have expressed strong objection to this order. He says that after the already implemented new pay scale and overtime rules, now the order of double payment on old dues is putting huge economic pressure on small and medium industries.

Labor organizations have welcomed this step. He says that double overtime payment is the right of workers, which was not being fully implemented for a long time. Labor representatives believe that this step is just and will give the workers their due rights.
