Bus overturned near Kaghot drain in Udhampur district, rescue operation underway, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed deep grief.

Udampur Bus Accident: A painful road accident has come to light in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. A public transport bus overturned near Kaghot (Kanote) village of Ramnagar, causing panic in the area. According to initial information, 15-20 people were feared dead, but now according to the latest update from Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, 16 people have died on the spot in this accident, while many other passengers are seriously injured. It is being told that the bus going from Ramnagar to Udhampur suddenly lost control and overturned near Kaghot drain. The reasons for the accident are not yet clearly known, but road conditions or driver’s negligence are being considered as possible reasons.

As soon as information about the accident was received, teams of police, SDRF and district administration reached the spot. Relief and rescue work is going on rapidly. The injured are being admitted to GMC Udhampur for immediate treatment. Preparations are also being made to airlift the seriously injured.

Expressing deep sorrow over the accident, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said that he has talked to the Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur and got information about the situation. He said that he and his office are in constant touch with the administration and are monitoring the entire rescue operation. At present, rescue work is going on and changes in the number of dead and injured are possible. The administration can also start investigation into the accident.

Meanwhile, the LG office of Jammu and Kashmir has written on social media platform X that the tragic road accident in Udhampur is extremely painful. My deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. May God give them strength. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. I have given instructions to the district administration, police, SDRF and health department to provide all possible help.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has also expressed deep condolence over this painful road accident.
