Himachal Salary Crisis: Amidst the increasing economic crisis in Himachal Pradesh, the government has taken a big and tough decision. The state government has decided that a part of the salaries of senior officials, ministers and MLAs will be withheld for the coming 6 months. The government says that this step has been taken out of compulsion so that the economic condition of the state can be managed. In common language, arrangements are being made to save money.

How much salary of which officers will be stopped?

According to the government notification, 30% of the salary of senior officers like Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary and DGP will be stopped. At the same time, about 20% of the salary of secretary level and other officers will be stopped. This money will not be deducted but will be given later, that is, it will be kept withheld for now. The government has clearly said that this is not a permanent cut, it is just a temporary arrangement.

CM will give up 50% salary, ministers will also be affected

This decision will also affect the leaders. The Chief Minister himself will not take 50% salary, while the Deputy CM and other ministers will forgo 30% salary. 20% salary of MLAs will also be withheld. The government is calling it “everyone’s contribution”, that is, everyone will together try to improve the economic condition of the state.

Opposition surrounded, said – this is a situation like economic emergency

Politics has also intensified on this decision of the government. The opposition says that this step shows that the economic situation in the state is very bad. Some leaders have described it as an “economic emergency-like situation”. They allege that these days are being witnessed due to the wrong policies of the government.
