Prominent Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is also in the electoral battle in Tamil Nadu. He targeted the government in Thoothukudi in the state today. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday alleged that Janata Dal (JDU) president Nitish Kumar succumbed to pressure and quietly accepted a seat in the Rajya Sabha.

Addressing an election rally in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, Rahul Gandhi said that Nitish was removed from the post of Chief Minister in Bihar and replaced by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Samrat Choudhary.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also claimed, ‘Nitish succumbed to pressure; That is why he did not say even a word and quietly went to Rajya Sabha.” He alleged that because of Nitish’s past actions, BJP has completely dominated him, and now they (BJP leaders) want to repeat the same model of Bihar in Tamil Nadu also.

Rahul Gandhi further said that as far as Tamil Nadu is concerned, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) once had great leaders who protected the rights of the Tamil people. However, he alleged that the old AIADMK which served the people of Tamil Nadu no longer exists.

AIADMK leaders succumbed to corruption

Rahul Gandhi asserted that the current AIADMK has become just a hollow structure and the BJP wants to dominate it. He said, “The old AIADMK, which had served the public, no longer exists.” The former Congress president alleged that AIADMK leaders have “bowed to pressure due to their corruption.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that BJP is planning to use AIADMK as an instrument to gain power in Tamil Nadu. Rahul said that although AIADMK has dedicated workers, they have no control over the party.
