Where did you go during your honeymoon? Woman made allegations in TCS office, 9 FIRs registered

A newly married female employee in the Nashik office of IT company TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) has been accused of serious allegations of sexual harassment, obscene comments and forced religious conversion. So far 8 people have been arrested in this case, including a woman operations manager. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Nashik Police has registered 9 FIRs.

The victim woman told the police that after marriage in June 2025, she joined the TCS office in Nashik as an associate. His training leaders during training were Shahrukh Qureshi and Jayesh Gunjal. Team lead Raza Menon used to come to him again and again and ask personal questions.

The woman made allegations

The woman said in her statement to the police, ‘Raza Memon used to ask – ‘Husband is in Pune, how do you manage alone?’ Don’t you feel scared? If you need any help, let me know, I will always help. Only a month had passed since the marriage, yet he would ask – ‘Where did you go on your honeymoon?’ What all did you do?’

He alleged that Shahrukh Qureshi used to instigate Raza. Together they would call him ‘player’ and make obscene comments on his marital life. Raza had said, ‘If you don’t succeed with your husband, tell us, we will teach you. How many boyfriends have you had before? What will happen if the family comes to know?

The woman told that on the day of Gudi Padwa in March, Raza pulled the pallu of her saree in the lobby. When she turned around, Raza was holding the pallu in his hand and smiling at her with obscene eyes.

After training, when she started regular work, Asif Ansari from the other team also started harassing her. He would sit near her without any reason, hold her hand, put his hand on her thigh and shoulder. Once he touched my stomach and waist and said, ‘You have zero figure.’

Asif reportedly said, ‘I like you. You cook food for your husband, cook it for me too. You can have one more boyfriend even after marriage. I will fulfill your physical needs. The woman said that Asif also made objectionable comments on Hindu gods and goddesses. When she protested, he would say, ‘Don’t you want to progress?’ The woman reported problems even after being blocked on Instagram and LinkedIn.

TCS’s zero tolerance policy

TCS said that it had not received any such complaint before. The company says that it has a zero tolerance policy on sexual harassment and forced conversion. The accused have been suspended. The company has now formed an oversight panel for internal investigation and has also included outside experts.

What did Fadnavis say?

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis termed the matter as serious and said it seemed like ‘corporate jihad’. Raza Memon’s family has called the allegations false. His uncle Ayaz Qazi said it was a ‘conspiracy’.

Raza is a good performer, so this case was done due to office politics and enmity. The family also alleged communal discrimination. The police is investigating this entire matter. TCS has said that it is fully cooperating.
