IAS Kinjal Singh transferred in 7 months, removed from Transport Department and given new responsibility in Education Department

Uttar Pradesh. After the recent administrative reshuffle in the state, the transfer of Kinjal Singh has become a topic of discussion. This senior IAS officer of 2008 batch has been removed from the post of Transport Commissioner and made the Secretary of Secondary Education Department.

According to the information, Kinjal Singh was appointed Transport Commissioner on 16 September 2025. During his tenure, he took strict action against overloading and suspended many transport officials and employees. His tough stance was also discussed at the administrative level.

However, according to sources, there is coordination with the Transport Minister regarding the working style and policy decisions in the Transport Department. Dayashankar Singh Couldn’t fully sit with. It is being told that differences emerged between the two regarding departmental decisions and action, due to which the situation became complicated.

There is also discussion in administrative circles that some tough decisions taken without coordination further increased this conflict. However, officially it is being described as a part of the normal administrative process.

Kinjal Singh’s administrative experience has been quite extensive. She is a resident of Ballia district and has worked as District Magistrate (DM) in districts like Bahrich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur and Ayodhya. Apart from this, she has also played important responsibilities in the Medical Education Department.

This transfer of Kinjal Singh is in the news for many reasons, which include discussions of her short tenure, departmental strictness and differences at the ministerial level. However, this has been presented by the government only as a routine administrative change.
