18-year-old builds AI platform to transform insurance sector

At just 18, Advith Sharma from Ludhiana is making waves by developing an AI-powered platform aimed at simplifying India’s complex insurance system.

Along with co-founder Arsh Gupta, he created Flow AI, a tool designed to help insurance agents and brokers manage their work more efficiently.

Built from real-world problems

Advith says his journey began not with technology, but with understanding real challenges. He spent months meeting over 150 insurance agents across North India, observing how they handled renewals, documents, and customer follow-ups.

His findings revealed a major gap—existing tools were either too expensive, too complex, or poorly suited to everyday workflows.

How Flow AI works

Flow AI acts as an “operating system” for insurance professionals, replacing scattered tools like Excel sheets, WhatsApp, and emails with a single platform.

It automates routine tasks such as:

  • Renewal reminders
  • Policy comparisons
  • Claim tracking
  • Document management

Tasks that once took hours or even days can now be completed in seconds, significantly improving efficiency.

Making technology accessible

One of the platform’s key strengths is affordability. While traditional systems can cost thousands per month, Flow AI starts at ₹699, making it accessible to small and mid-sized agents, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

It is also compliant with India’s data protection norms and designed to integrate with how agents already work, rather than forcing them to change habits.

From idea to impact

Built under their venture AetherLabs, the platform is already being used by multiple brokers and over 50 agents, with plans to expand further.

Advith’s early exposure to the insurance sector through his father’s career helped shape his understanding, but his success stems from continuous learning, feedback, and iteration.

A new generation of problem-solvers

While most teenagers focus on academics, Advith’s journey reflects a growing trend—young innovators identifying real-world issues and building practical solutions.

His work not only simplifies operations for agents but also improves accessibility for customers through tools like Insurance GPT, which helps users find suitable policies instantly.
