Monsoon Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heatwave conditions in isolated pockets of East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Odisha on Tuesday, April 21. In its latest bulletin, the Meteorological Department stated that heatwave conditions are expected in Jharkhand until April 22, and in West Uttar Pradesh from April 21 to April 23.

Heavy Rainfall & Thunderstorm Alerts
Relief is coming in some parts of India:
- Very heavy rainfall (April 21): Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh
- Thunderstorms & lightning (till April 23): West Bengal, Odisha
- Strong winds (up to 70 km/h on April 23): Bihar
- Light rain with thunder (till April 22): Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh

Warning for Heavy Rainfall in These States
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of very heavy rainfall in isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya on April 21, and in Arunachal Pradesh on the same day. Additionally, an alert has been issued for Bihar regarding strong winds, with gusts up to 70 km/h, on April 23. Alerts have also been issued for West Bengal and Odisha, anticipating light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms until April 23.
The Meteorological Department forecasts that Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh may experience light rainfall accompanied by thunder until April 22. Light rainfall is also anticipated in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala until April 23.

According to the Meteorological Department, heatwave conditions are expected in East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and East Madhya Pradesh from April 21 to April 23; in Jharkhand on April 21; in West Uttar Pradesh from April 21 to April 22; and in West Rajasthan from April 21 to April 23. Furthermore, heatwaves are also likely to prevail in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Odisha between April 21 and 23.
In view of the severe heat, the IMD has also issued an advisory. People have been advised to drink plenty of water and to avoid venturing outdoors between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
