Trump’s open threat to Iran, said- blockade of Iranian ports will not be lifted until an agreement is reached

Washington: US President Donald Trump has said that America will not lift its blockade of Iranian ports until an agreement is reached with Iran. According to the BBC report, Trump’s statement has come at a time when there is uncertainty whether there will be new talks between the two countries to end the war or not.

He has written on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’ that this blockade which started a week ago is completely destroying Iran and America is leading in this struggle. It is noteworthy that the temporary ceasefire period between America and Iran is going to end on Wednesday, but there is no certainty whether the second round of peace talks will proceed in Pakistan or not.

Security has been tightened in Pakistan’s capital in view of the possibility of the meeting, but US Vice President JD Vance has not yet left Washington, while Iran says it has not yet decided whether it will attend it or not.

Vance is going to lead the American delegation in the talks between the two countries. Since the blockade began, the US military has directed 27 ships to turn back or divert to an Iranian port, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM). For the first time during this conflict, the US also intercepted and seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship. The ship had tried to cross the blockade on Sunday. Video shared by Centcom reportedly shows the ship was warned before troops disembarked.
