Alert! Government job rules changed, now you will not lose your job after giving exam, government gave relief

Patna/Raipur, 21 April 2026: For those doing government jobs, good news has come from two states simultaneously. While the Samrat Chaudhary government of Bihar has removed the biggest obstacle coming in the way of career of the employees, the Chhattisgarh government has provided a security cover worth crores of rupees to its employees. These decisions have not only boosted the morale of the employees but also ended the uncertainty about their future.

Ban on examinations ended in Bihar

The news of relief for the government employees of Bihar has come from the cancellation of a disputed order dated 6 April 2026. In fact, the Urban Development Department had implemented a strict rule, under which any government employee could appear in the departmental or competitive examination only once during his entire service period. According to this order, if an employee appeared for the examination for the second time, he might have to lose his job.

This decision caused huge resentment among thousands of youth and employees across Bihar. He believed that this rule was blocking his path to progress. Seeing the matter escalating, the head of the new government, Samrat Chaudhary, immediately took action and threw this order in the dustbin. Now the government employees of Bihar will be able to appear in big examinations like UPSC, BPSC as many times as they want without any fear.

Got ‘open sky’ for career growth

Employees union leaders in Patna welcomed this decision and called it a big victory. Now those employees who started working at a young age will be able to fulfill their dream of reaching higher positions on the basis of their ability. However, experts say that the central rules like obtaining No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the department for second job will remain applicable as before, but the freedom to take the exam has brought new enthusiasm among the employees.

Insurance and cashless treatment worth Rs 1.25 crore in Chhattisgarh

On the other hand, Vishnudev Sai government of Chhattisgarh has prepared a historic package of financial security for its employees. The government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank of Maharashtra and SBI for this scheme, effective from January 4, 2026. Under this, regular employees whose salaries come in these banks will get free personal accident insurance cover ranging from Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.25 crore.

Not only this, the facility of cashless treatment up to Rs 1 lakh has also been provided in the first hour after the accident i.e. ‘Golden Hour’. Apart from this, if any untoward incident happens to the employee, an additional assistance of Rs 10 lakh for the marriage of their daughters and Rs 10 lakh for the higher education of the children will be given by the bank.

Administration tightens its belt, benefits will reach every employee

Chhattisgarh government has instructed all the collectors and department heads that information about this welfare scheme should be disseminated to every small and big employee. Senior officials of Raipur say that this step will not only provide financial security to the families of the employees, but this coordination with banks will also increase administrative efficiency. Now the discussion has started to implement this model of Chhattisgarh in other states also.

Overall, the governments of Bihar and Chhattisgarh have given a ‘double gift’ to their employees – on one hand, freedom to build a career and on the other, a firm promise of family security.
