Ayush Mhatre Ruled Out of Remainder of IPL 2026 Due to Hamstring Injury
The 18-year-old Ayush Mhatre has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2026 due to a hamstring injury.
The Chennai Super Kings managment have officially confirmed that the youngster will be on a rehabilitation period of 6-12 weeks and will be ruled out of the tournament.
The young gun have been an injury concern and has been seen in discomfort frequent times. His injury worsened during the IPL 2026 game against Sunrisers Hyderabad while batting.
He required an on-field therapy couple of times before he got out and he was limping while running down the wickets. On his way out, he was helped by Ramakrishna Ghosh and Physio Tommy Simsek.
Ayush underwent scans on Monday to determine the extent of his injury. His absence will hurt CSK’s chances as the side is struggling for momentum.
Ayush Mhatre has been the top scorer for the side til now, scoring two half centuries at a strike rate of 177.87.
CSK has been officially announced the statement based on Ayush Mhatre injury. “Ayush Mhatre has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026 due to a left hamstring injury sustained while batting during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 18.”
“Ayush’s injury will require a rehabilitation period of 6-12 weeks. We wish Ayush a speedy recovery,” said the CSK statement.

Ayush Mhatre have played a total of 13 games for CSK where he amassed 441 runs at an average of 33.92 and a strikerate of 183.75.
Chennai Super Kings have been struggling with injuries and finding combinations in the ongoing camp. After losing first three games, CSK won the next two games before losing again recently in Hyderabad.
With only two wins out of six games, they have been sitting in the 8th position of the IPL 2026 points table.
As per the CSK 2026 schedule, their next match will be against their arch rivals Mumbai Indians on April 23 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
