Iran Attacks Ships Coming to India: Iran has once again attacked a ship coming to India in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired on the Indian ship while crossing the Strait of Hormuz. After this she seized the ship and took it with herself. These ships have been identified as MSC Francesca and Epaminodes. The owners of the ships could not be immediately contacted. One of these ships, Epaminodes, was coming from Dubai to Mundra Port in Gujarat. At present, there has been no response from the Government of India in the matter.
Let us tell you that this attack happened after Donald Trump’s statement of increasing the US and Iran ceasefire. After Trump’s announcement, three cargo ships have been attacked in the Strait of Hormuz. Everyone is safe even after the firing incident.
According to ship tracking data, the ship Epaminondas seized by Iran was going to Mundra Port in Gujarat. This ship was coming towards India after starting its journey from Dubai when IRGC attacked it and captured it. This seizure of a ship heading towards an Indian port has increased India’s concerns regarding maritime security and supply chain.
There has been a firing incident in this area
According to the report, there was firing and rocket propelled grenade attack in the North East area of Oman. The bridge of a Liberian-flagged container ship has been damaged. An IRGC gunboat was approaching the ship. Only after this the ship was attacked. At present all the crew members present in the ship are safe. There were three people on the gunboat. A second container ship was also fired upon, about eight nautical miles west of Iran. There was no damage to this Panama-flagged ship. Its crew members are safe.
Iran threatened America
The IRGC has also threatened to target American oil companies and oil wells in West Asia. This threat has come from Iran’s Tasnim news agency. Iran has warned that if its infrastructure is touched, all US-owned oil wells in West Asia will be destroyed. Iran has made it clear that it will selectively attack all American-owned oil companies.
Indian ships were also fired upon on April 18
Earlier on April 18, an incident of firing on two Indian ships was reported. India had strongly opposed this to Iran. An audio related to this was also revealed. In this, there was a conversation between the captain present on the Indian ship and the Iranian army. In this the ship captain had said that he was allowed to proceed. However now firing is being done. They should be allowed to return. After this, the Indian Navy had made it clear in its advisory not to cross this route without our permission.
