MP Pappu Yadav defended his remarks on women leaders, said – I am fighting for women, we are even ready to sacrifice our lives.

Patna : Bihar State Women’s Commission has sent a notice to independent MP from Purnia, Bihar, Rajesh Ranjan Pappu Yadav over his controversial statement on women entering politics. On this, Pappu Yadav said on Wednesday that 90 percent women are supporting his point. He said that when such a large number of women are standing with him then what is there to fear.

MP Pappu Yadav said that women who have progressed through their hard work, whether they are SP, doctor or engineer, should come forward. We are even ready to sacrifice our lives. But today 90 percent women of India are supporting our point. When such a large number of women are standing with us, then what is there to fear? We did not take anyone’s name, we just talked about women in general. We had also said that the remaining 10 percent women are also good women. Then why did it hurt you so much?

Pappu Yadav said that I will be crucified, I will eat stones, this has been history, the history of Socrates, we are ready to eat poison. But today 90 percent women of India are supporting our cause. Why should such women have any fear?

‘Don’t throw stones at others living in glass houses’

MP Pappu Yadav had made controversial comments on leaders and women active in politics. These comments drew strong reactions. After this, Bihar State Women Commission took suo motu cognizance of her statement. Pappu Yadav said about those who objected to his statement, who are these people who have sent me notice? Who are they with? “People who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others.”

On the allegations made in the notice, Pappu Yadav said that I have also said this on the floor of the House that 70-80 percent of the leaders watch porn. Therefore, get everyone tested. If porn is found on my phone, check me too. Accusing women of exploitation in politics, Pappu Yadav said that I had said that male leaders do not allow women to enter politics without exploiting them. Is this wrong? He said that I am fighting the battle of women. These people exploit women.

Yadav said that there are allegations of sexual exploitation against many male leaders, and charge sheets have also been filed against them. The whole of India is tainted. If I talk about male leaders, why do they (the Women’s Commission) face so much trouble? He said that these leaders exploit women, and then talked about the Women’s Reservation Bill.

The commission said that insult to the dignity of women

Earlier, Pappu Yadav had said that “90 percent of women cannot do politics without going to the leaders’ room. On this, the Bihar State Women’s Commission took suo motu cognizance of his comments on Tuesday and issued him a notice. In this notice, the Commission has described the MP’s comments as “disgusting” and an insult to the dignity of women. The Women’s Commission has sought a reply from Pappu Yadav within 3 days. The Commission has asked him why he made such a statement and why his Lok Sabha membership should not be cancelled.

The Commission has taken this action regarding a video circulated on social media. In the video, independent MP Pappu Yadav is reportedly claiming that women who enter the field of politics are able to move ahead only by “sharing the bed” with established politicians.

Bihar Women Commission has said in the notice that this statement hurts the self-respect and social prestige of women. This indicates that women working in politics do not advance on their own merit, which is an insulting and baseless generalization. Why should the Speaker of the Lok Sabha not be recommended to cancel your Lok Sabha membership?
