Vietnam considers limiting tourist boats on Ha Long Bay to prevent overcrowding

As part of the plan, the environmental carrying capacity of Ha Long Bay will be clearly defined, providing the basis for proposed caps on both the number and types of tourist vessels operating in the area.

Around two hours from Hanoi, Ha Long is famous for its thousands of small vegetation-covered islands and towering limestone cliffs.

Each year, it welcomes millions of visitors, putting increasing pressure on the environment and landscape.

In recent years, many foreign tourists complained about trash and overcrowding in the bay.
