Stubborn yellow stains have settled on the sink? Just follow these 5 magical home remedies, every corner will shine like mirror: – ..
News India Live, Digital Desk: Often people use expensive cleaners, but the hard chemicals present in them can take away the shine of the sink forever. If you want to clean the sink without any effort and at low expense, then the solution is available in your kitchen itself.
1. Baking Soda & Lemon
This is the oldest and most effective method.
How to do: Sprinkle baking soda all over the sink and leave for 5-10 minutes. Now scrub the sink with half a slice of lemon. The reaction of lemon’s citric acid and baking soda will remove yellow stains from their roots.
2. White Vinegar
Vinegar is a panacea for limescale.
How to do: Fill a spray bottle with vinegar and spray it on the affected area. After 15 minutes, rub lightly with a scrub and wash with warm water. This works as the best polish for steel sinks.
3. Hydrogen Peroxide
If the stains are very old and dark, use hydrogen peroxide.
How to do: Soak a tissue paper or cloth in it and place it on the stained area. After half an hour, remove it and scrub. It acts like a bleaching agent and also kills germs.
4. Salt & Kerosene
This recipe is very useful for ceramic or marble sinks.
How to do: Mix a little kerosene oil in salt and rub it on the stains. The yellowness will disappear immediately. (Note: After this wash thoroughly with soap so that the smell of oil goes away).
5. Tomato Ketchup
It may sound strange, but ketchup works wonders to restore the shine of a copper or brass sink/faucet.
How to do: Apply ketchup and leave it for 20 minutes and then rub and wash. The acid present in it makes the metal shine.
3 ‘Golden Rules’ to always keep the sink clean:
Night cleaning: Empty the sink and wipe it with a dry cloth before going to bed at night. Stains are formed due to moisture.
Use of hot water: Pour hot water and salt in the drain pipe of the sink once a week, this will prevent the pipe from getting blocked and will also prevent smell.
Avoid hard scrubbers: Never use too much steel wool on a steel sink, it causes scratches and makes the sink look dull.
