Da Nang, Sa Pa set to become biggest draws during April holidays
Data released on April 22 by Mustgo, which partners with more than 2,000 hotels nationwide, shows that Sa Pa is nearly fully booked ahead of the three-day Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day holiday beginning this Sunday.
Its proximity to Hanoi and easy access by private vehicles helps Sa Pa maintain its appeal amid the rising airfares in summer.
Occupancy during the Reunification Day and International Labor Day holidays from April 30 to May 3 has topped 80%.
Da Nang is emerging as one of the standout destinations, buoyed by a diverse lineup of tourism activities, including artistic kite performances, pizza festivals, swimming competitions, and water sports showcases.
Data from Agoda indicates that accommodation searches in Da Nang for the April 24-May 2 period surged by 89% year-on-year, making it the second most searched domestic destination after Vung Tau.
Data from Mustgo shows that the city’s upscale hospitality segment is nearing full capacity.

International five-star beachfront hotels have reported occupancy rates of around 90% while domestic four- and five-star beachfront properties are reporting even higher rates of up to 95%.
As an early and intense heatwave grips many parts of the country, with temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius, travelers are increasingly opting for cooler coastal destinations, according to Agoda.
Island getaways such as Ly Son and Phu Quy are experiencing a surge in demand, with occupancy rates exceeding 90%.
By the third week of April, most hotels and homestays on both islands were full, particularly those in the mid-priced segment.
While a limited number of rooms remain available at some properties, prices have climbed by 20-40% above normal.
A representative from Muong Thanh Hotel Ly Son, which has 93 rooms, said reservations for this year’s holiday season were made earlier than usual, with bookings beginning to pour in by late March.
