‘Dead body lying in the sun for 2 hours’, devotee dies on first day of Kedarnath Yatra
As soon as the doors of Kedarnath Dham open, people from all over the country are coming for darshan. The government has claimed to have made all the arrangements for this yatra, but these claims were exposed on the very first day of the yatra. A young man had come for this trip from Gujarat with his father. His father had a heart attack and died. Surprisingly, despite repeated requests by the young man, the victim was not provided medical facilities. He told that after negligence on the part of the administration, he himself took his father to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Now the administration was not able to even make arrangements to transport his father’s body to Gujarat.
On the very first day of Kedarnath Yatra, a family from Baroda, Gujarat had come for this yatra. During this time, Dilip Bhai Manu Mali, a member of the same family, felt dizzy and fell down. His son pleaded for help but the administration did not reach out to help him. The family first called for medical help but did not get it. After this, the administration is being accused of not providing them the necessary facilities to remove the dead body.

Family members made allegations
In this case, a video of the deceased’s son Hemant Mali has surfaced in which he is making many serious allegations against the administration. Hemant told in a video, ‘Suddenly my father’s health deteriorated and he fell on the ground. We immediately called number 100. We were told that help would reach in 5-10 minutes but no one came for one and a half hour. In such a situation, the dead body remained lying in the open and in the sun for 2 hours. Forced by the circumstances, I myself carried my father on a pillion and took him to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

Hemant told that after the death of his father, the administration is not providing any help to him in taking his dead body to Gujarat. He showed in the video that his father’s body was lying in the sun for about two hours. The family members are demanding to send the body down by helicopter but no arrangement for this has been made by the administration. The young man stood for hours at the helipad carrying his father’s body but the administration was talking about not getting NOC from DGCA. The youth told that he has talked to everyone from CM to DM.

What did the police say?
After this video was uploaded on social media, questions started being raised on the administration. Rudraprayag police officials have also issued a clarification in the matter. According to police, devotee Dilip Bhai Manu Mali died at Primary Health Center Kedarnath due to ill health. In such a situation, the deceased was to be sent to Rudraprayag District Hospital for post-mortem through heli, but today, in view of the safety of heli services for Kedarnath, an inspection was conducted by DGCA and due to this inspection, there was a delay.
The statement of Ashish Chauhan, CEO of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority has also come out in this matter. He says that initially the control room was not aware of this matter. He said, ‘As soon as the information was received around 12 noon, within 10-15 minutes a helicopter was arranged and the body was brought down.’
