Nashik’s new ‘rapist baba’, raped a woman by claiming to have divine powers; Blackmailed by taking obscene pictures

It is being told that in the name of spiritual treatment, an alleged Baba raped a girl. The accused, resident of Dharangaon Kharak, took advantage of the mental and family condition of the victim to trap her and then forced himself on her.

This matter came to light when after living under fear and pressure for a long time, the victim gathered courage and lodged a complaint. In this entire incident, Superstition Removal Committee (ANIS) played an important role, with the help of which the police registered a case against the accused and started investigation.

How to increase closeness with a woman?

Accused Maheshgiri alias Mahesh Dilip Kakade took the victim under his influence by claiming himself to have divine powers. The victim was going through mental problems, so initially the accused started calling her for puja every Thursday. With time, he increased his contact with the victim and started sending personal and obscene messages on her mobile phone, due to which she became more and more mentally weak.

When and where was the rape committed?

According to the victim, on August 23, 2024, the accused lured her and called her to Panchavati area. From there he took her in his car to a lodge on Trimbakeshwar Road. When the victim protested, the accused intimidated her by showing her the Rudraksha rosary he wore around his neck and said “I have divine powers, you will not be able to stop anything,” and forcibly had physical relations with her.

Blackmailed with obscene photos

After the rape, the accused also took nude photographs of the victim. When the victim tried to go to the police, the accused threatened to kill her and intimidated her by calling himself a criminal. Additionally, to destroy evidence, he snatched the victim’s mobile phone and deleted all the photos and messages on it. The victim’s parents had taken her to this alleged Baba for treatment. The accused scared the girl of being possessed by a ghost and started calling her for puja.
