Drunk husband slit wife’s throat, kept her head in a sack and reached police station; Said- used to doubt my character

Police arrested Salik Ram Yadav

Korba. In Korba district of Chhattisgarh, the police has arrested the husband of a woman for murder with a sharp weapon. Police officials said that the police has arrested Salik Ram Yadav (58) on charges of murder of his wife Chechbai (50) in Bundeli village under Rajgamar police station of the district.

He told that Salik Ram is a watchman in a poultry farm in Bundeli village. On Wednesday, when he had a dispute with his wife Chechbai, he, in an intoxicated state, killed Chechbai by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon and after keeping the severed head in a sack, he left for the police post. When the villagers came to know about this, they informed the police. The police arrested him.

During interrogation, Salik Ram informed the police that Chechbai was suspicious of his character, due to which they often had disputes. Due to this reason there was a dispute between them on Wednesday and he killed Chechbai.

Police officials said that the woman’s body and the sharp weapon have been recovered and the body has been sent for post-mortem. He said that investigation into the matter has been started.
