ECI salutes the voters of Bengal and Tamil Nadu since independence, made a historical record of 91.40%

Gyanesh Kumar ECI Record: In the first phase of West Bengal Assembly elections, voting was held on 152 seats, in which 91.40 percent voting was recorded. During the voting, incidents of violence were also reported in many areas of the state, but despite this the enthusiasm of the voters did not diminish. This is the reason why the highest turnout so far was recorded in this phase.

Voting took place today in the first phase in Bengal and on all seats in Tamil Nadu. Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar said that West Bengal and Tamil Nadu have recorded the highest voting percentage since independence. ECI salutes every voter of West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.

BJP claimed massive victory

Responding to this, Narendra Modi said that the increased voting percentage is an indication that BJP is going to get a landslide victory in the state. At the same time, Mamata Banerjee claimed that the first phase of voting is clearly indicating that TMC is in the lead and is headed towards victory.

Record voting in Tamil Nadu

Along with this, voting was also completed on all 234 assembly seats of Tamil Nadu Assembly, where 84.35 percent voting was recorded, which is considered to be a record level. The Election Commission had set up a total of 75,032 polling stations in the state, out of which 5,938 stations were declared sensitive. Special security and surveillance arrangements were made at these sensitive centers so that the voting could be conducted in a peaceful and fair manner.

The second phase of voting in West Bengal is to be held on April 29. A total of 142 seats will be voted in the second phase. It is expected that in the second phase also the people of Bengal will vote maximum and create a historical record. The political party is also engaged in election campaign for the second phase. On one hand, Bharatiya Janata Party is doing road shows, while on the other hand, Mamata Banerjee’s TMC is addressing the public. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see what the outcome of the elections will be.
