Pakistan’s newest billionaire Sualeh Asif lands deal with Elon Musk

Pakistan’s AI startup co-founder Sualeh Asif has landed on the list of global billionaires after landing a deal with Elon Musk.

Sualeh is a Karachi-born AI startup founder who co-founded Cursor, an AI code-generation startup.

The 26-year-old’s AI startup has signed a $60 billion acquisition deal with Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

Cursor is now among one of many Silicon Valley startups including OpenAI and Anthropic.

Sualeh originates from Karachi who attended Nixor College graduating in 2018. Later he went on to study at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

At MIT, he acquired Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Computer Sciece.

He also represented the country in the International Math Olympiad from 2016 to 2018.

While he was at MIT, he cofounded Anysphere, the maker of the popular AI code editing tool Cursor.

The company now generates more than $1 billion in annual revenue making it one of the fastest growing AI startups in the world.

Pakistan’s former federal minister for IT Umar Saif has hailed him as the “the kind of role (model) Pakistani youth needs”.
