‘Leaders do the bidding of Patna hostel daughters’, Pappu Yadav’s sensational claim
Sanjay Singh, Patna. There has once again been a stir in the politics of Bihar. Pappu Yadav has made serious allegations regarding exploitation of girls in big cities including Patna, due to which the political atmosphere has heated up. After her statement, the National Commission for Women has also become active and the matter now seems to be reaching a stage of confrontation.
In a press conference held in Purnia, Pappu Yadav claimed that girl students living in some girls hostels of Patna are being exploited. He said that the girls are being served before the officials and the leaders are bidding for the daughters. During this, he also showed some video clips on his mobile phone and claimed that these were part of the sting operation. According to him, this is not a single incident, but a series of many cases, in which exploitation is taking place in an organized manner.

Pappu Yadav said that this entire system is connected to leaders and influential people. He stressed that he was not making any baseless allegations but was raising the issue on the basis of material revealed under the law. He also said that it is important to raise voice against the oppression of women and girls, no matter how much criticism one has to face for it.
Pappu Yadav surrounded by controversial statement
In his statement, he said in an emotional tone that if injustice is being done to daughters then someone will stand against it. He also added that women’s safety can be ensured not just through law, but through social courage and collective effort. However, this is not the first time that Pappu Yadav has come into controversy regarding his statement. Earlier he had given the statement that 90 percent women cannot move ahead in politics without going into the rooms of leaders. There was a lot of opposition to his statement. National Commission for Women also issued a notice.

However, Pappu Yadav publicly rejected the Commission’s notice. It was reported that he made comments through social media like throwing the notice in the dustbin. Bihar Women Commission Chairperson Apsara reacted strongly to this. He said that this attitude of Pappu Yadav is not only irresponsible but also against the dignity of the Women’s Commission. He alleged that the MP made indecent remarks against him and made inappropriate statements by sharing his photograph with a leader.
Pappu Yadav will have to answer by May 3
Taking this entire matter seriously, the Women’s Commission once again took suo motu cognizance. The Commission issued a notice to Pappu Yadav and directed him to appear with evidence on May 3. Besides, it has also been indicated that a defamation case can be filed against him for hurting the dignity of the Commission.
This entire incident has created a new controversy in the politics of Bihar. On one hand, Pappu Yadav is describing his allegations as a voice raised in the interest of women, while on the other hand, the Women’s Commission is considering his statements and behavior as inappropriate and insulting. Now it has to be seen in which direction this matter moves further and whether these allegations can be investigated impartially or not?
