Announcement of 708 Forest Guard Recruitment: Selection process will be based on application, race and written examination from June 30.

Lucknow. There is big news for the youth preparing for government jobs in Uttar Pradesh. Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the schedule to start the recruitment process for 708 posts of Forest Guard and Wildlife Guard in the Forest Department.

According to the Commission, online applications for this recruitment can be made from June 30 to July 20, 2026. At the same time, the last date for amendment in the application and adjustment of fees has been fixed as July 27.

Only those candidates who have participated in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 will be able to apply for this recruitment. Candidates will be shortlisted for the main written examination on the basis of PET score only.

The application fee has been fixed at ₹25 for all categories of candidates. Separate fees will be charged from the selected candidates for the main examination.

As a qualification, it is mandatory for the candidate to have passed Intermediate or equivalent examination. The age limit has been fixed as minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years as on 1st July 2026.

Along with the written examination, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will also be mandatory in the recruitment process. Male candidates will have to complete a 25 kilometer run with 10 kg weight in 4 hours, while female candidates will have to complete a 14 kilometer run.

There will be 100 questions, 100 marks in the written examination and negative marking will also be applicable. The detailed syllabus has been released on the website of the Commission.

The Commission has advised the candidates to keep all the necessary documents ready before applying and after filling the form, keep its printout safe.
