IPL 2026 Updates: In the IPL match, Mumbai Indians had to face a crushing defeat of 103 runs at the hands of Chennai Super Kings. After the match, captain Hardik Pandya, explaining the reason for the defeat, clearly said that losing wickets continuously in the power play was a heavy burden on the team. Batting first, Chennai performed strongly. Wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson scored a brilliant century and scored 101 runs in 54 balls, which included 10 fours and 6 sixes. Thanks to his innings, CSK scored a strong score of 207 runs for 6 wickets.

Akil Hussain wreaked havoc in bowling. He took 4 wickets for just 17 runs and also bowled a maiden over, due to which Mumbai’s batting completely disintegrated. Mumbai Indians, who set out to chase the target of 208 runs, had a very bad start. After losing important wickets in the power play itself, the team could never recover and were all out for just 104 runs in 19 overs.

After the match, Hardik Pandya said, “Losing wickets in the powerplay proved to be the biggest loss for us. We could not get out of that pressure. We have to do better in batting.” When asked about the pitch, he said that both the teams played on the same pitch, but Samson’s brilliant innings and the cooperation of other batsmen made the difference. Now Mumbai Indians have a few days time, in which the team will rework its strategy and try to perform better in the next match.
