Four TCS Employees Arrested For Sexual Harassment And Hurting Religious Sentiments
In Maharashtra’s Nashik city, police have arrested four employees associated with an IT company on charges of sexual harassment and hurting religious sentiments. The action was taken based on a complaint by a Hindu employee who alleged that his wife was subjected to indecent behavior at the workplace.
According to the police, all four arrested accused are employees of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and were already in judicial custody in other cases. In the new case, a case has been registered against him under various sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).
Giving information about the case, Assistant Police Commissioner (Crime) Sandeep Mitke said that a case has been registered against the accused under sections 75 (sexual harassment), 79 (attempt to insult the modesty of a woman), 299 (hurting religious sentiments) and 302 (words hurting religious sentiments).
According to the complainant, his wife was working in the TCS office in Nashik, where the accused used abusive language and harassed her. On this basis, sections of sexual harassment were added. Police say that investigation into the case is ongoing and evidence is being collected to confirm all the allegations. The officials also clarified that the investigation will be conducted impartially and action will be taken against the culprits as per law.
This incident has again brought into focus issues related to safety and conduct in the workplace. Experts believe that companies need to take strict steps to ensure a safe and respectful environment for employees. The police have appealed to the people to avoid any kind of rumors and rely only on official information while further legal process is underway in the case.
