New Delhi. Social activist Anna Hazare on Saturday criticized Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha’s move to leave AAP and join the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that it is not right to change political parties in this way for personal gain. This is also not in accordance with constitutional values. He stressed that elected representatives should work within the spirit of the Constitution and avoid taking decisions motivated by personal gain. He stressed the need to maintain democratic ethics.

Anna Hazare said that it is not right to leave one party and join another party. It is not right to change political parties for your selfish interests. There is no mention of this in our Constitution. Our Constitution is supreme. Our country runs on the basis of the Constitution. Hazare was the main figure and ideological guide in the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party through his anti-corruption movement in 2011. However, later due to his entry into mainstream politics, he distanced himself from Arvind Kejriwal. Hazare’s comment has come at a time when there is a stir in the political circles. On Friday, three MPs Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal announced their separation from the Aam Aadmi Party. After this, he joined BJP in the presence of party chief Nitin Nabin. Nitin Nabin later welcomed this decision. Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Chadha said he along with six other AAP Rajya Sabha MPs have informed the House Chairman about leaving the party as per rules. Aam Aadmi Party is also preparing to send a letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman in this matter. They formalized a division that had been brewing for weeks.
