AAP workers wrote ‘traitor’ outside the house of rebel MPs, burnt his effigy
Aam Aadmi Party workers demonstrated outside the house of Rajya Sabha MP Rajinder Gupta in Ludhiana on Saturday. Expressing anger, the workers wrote slogans in Punjabi on the walls with spray paint. Words like ‘traitor’ were also written in them. They also burnt the effigy of Rajinder Gupta.
All this happened because on Friday, Rajinder Gupta including Raghav Chadha and two-thirds of the Rajya Sabha MPs of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) merged with the BJP.

What did Raghav Chaddha say?
Raghav Chadha, while leaving the party, said that AAP has deviated from the basic principles of its founding. He said, ‘I don’t want to be a part of their mistakes. I was the right person in the wrong party.
Chadha claimed that 7 out of 10 AAP Rajya Sabha MPs supported the decision. He signed the merger documents with BJP under the provisions of the Constitution.
What was the reason for the dispute?
Tension was increasing in the Aam Aadmi Party for some days. Raghav Chadha was removed from the post of deputy leader of the party. Senior AAP leaders accused him of toeing the party line, not directly attacking the BJP and doing ‘soft PR’.
Chadha termed these allegations as baseless. He said that his focus in Parliament was on the problems of the common people, such as expensive food at the airport, tax on the middle class, the condition of delivery workers and telecom prices. Due to these issues, he had a good image among the youth.

This development is being considered a big political blow for the Aam Aadmi Party. This division under the leadership of Raghav Chadha has caused a lot of damage to the party.
