The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has launched a big campaign this month regarding distribution of ration to the poor and helpless families of the state. In view of the scorching sun and rising heat, the government has issued strict instructions to the Food and Logistics Department so that no eligible person is deprived of ration. The free distribution of May 2026 quota will start from 24th April and will continue till 08th May 2026. This step of the government is expected to provide great relief to the working class and poor families.

According to the new timetable set by the government, all Kotedars will ensure distribution of ration at their shops from 06 am to 09 pm every day. How much grain will be available on which card? The government has also clarified the situation regarding the quantity of ration. Antyodaya cardholders will be given a total of 35 kg food grains per card, which includes 21 kg wheat and 14 kg rice. At the same time, eligible household card holders will get 5 kg of food grains per unit, in which 3 kg of wheat and 2 kg of rice will be provided completely free of cost.

District Supply Officer said that portability facility will continue under the ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ scheme. This means that the cardholder can take ration from any district or any fair price shop as per his convenience. The special thing is that on the last day of distribution i.e. 8th May, grains will also be given to those consumers whose Aadhaar authentication (fingerprint) is not possible due to technical reasons. Ration will be provided to such people through mobile OTP verification.
