Hanoi surpasses Singapore in list of world’s most colorful cities
Hanoi ranked 8th in a list of 15 most colorful cities in the world, surpassing Singapore, Barcelona and New York, according to Irish travel insurance provider JustCover.
To compile the ranking, researchers analyzed image data from 78 cities worldwide, using pixel-level color detection to measure how many distinct hues appear in each destination. These results were then converted into a “vibrancy score” out of 100, a data-driven gauge of how visually dynamic each city appears.
Singapore placed 12th, earning a vibrancy score of 63.2 with roughly 1.66 million unique colors identified.
Lisbon (Portugal) ranked first with more than 2.6 million unique colors and a perfect score of 100. It was followed by Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) in second place and Porto (Portugal) in third.
