New Delhi: Famous Bollywood choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife Lizelle recently spoke openly about their faith and spiritual journey. He told how his beliefs are not limited to one religion, but respect elements of many religions.

In this discussion held in a podcast, Remo mentioned his childhood decisions and the support of his family, while Liesel shared her inclination towards Hindu worship.

Naremo D’Souza was born as Ramesh Gopi Nair. At the age of 15, he decided to adopt Christianity. While doing work related to the church, he felt that he wanted to connect with it more deeply. Remo told that he talked to his father about this.

The father said, “Okay, do it. Just don’t change my name.” For this reason his full name became Remo Gopi D’Souza. The family accepted this decision without any pressure, which was very important for Remo.

Respect for all religions at home

Liezel D’Souza told that after the death of her parents, in the last 4-5 years, her mind started leaning more towards Hinduism. She says, “I am Catholic, but now I do all the prayers and I feel good about it.”

A big statue of Lord Shiva and a small Shivlinga are kept in his house. Apart from this, along with the statue of Jesus Christ, there are also statues of Lord Ganesha and Mother Lakshmi. Everyone is worshiped. It is clear from this that his house is respectful of all religions.

Remo’s choreography achievements

Remo D’Souza is one of the most successful choreographers of Bollywood. He has worked on many memorable songs. These include hit songs like ‘Badtameez Dil’, ‘Disco Deewane’, ‘Balam Pichkari’, ‘Deewani Mastani’, ‘Pinga’ and ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’.

His choreography is always full of energy and creativity, which makes the films more attractive. Both of them also told that they did not keep their children under the pressure of any one religion, but gave them freedom so that they could choose their own path.
