This time the Prime Minister is bringing the gift of development projects worth more than Rs 6 thousand crores for the people of his parliamentary constituency. The most special among these is the modern ‘Signature Bridge’ and the ‘Super Specialty Block’ being built in Kabirchaura Hospital.

Schedule of April 28: Gift of communication and development to women

According to BJP sources, the Prime Minister will reach Varanasi airport after 4 pm, from where he will reach Bareka (BLW) ground via army helicopter. Here he will address 40 thousand women on the importance of ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Amendment Act’. During this time he will also ask women for their opinion on this law.

In the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the stage, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 6000 crore related to education, health and infrastructure. After the day’s programs the Prime Minister will rest at Bareka Guest House. There is also discussion that he may also go out at night for a surprise inspection to know the reality of any development project in the city.

April 29: 14 km long historical road show

On the second day of the tour, ‘Modi magic’ will once again be seen on the streets of Varanasi. The Prime Minister will conduct a grand road show of about 14 kilometers long from Bareka to Baba Vishwanath Dham. This is being considered as the biggest road show in the history of Kashi so far. The entire route is being decorated like a bride and barricading has been done at every nook and corner for safety. After the road show, the PM will pay obeisance in the court of Baba Vishwanath and offer prayers.

Signature Bridge: Road to Bihar and Bengal will be easy

Varanasi is going to get the gift of the country’s largest ‘Signature Bridge’ (rail-road bridge). The cost of this 1074 meter long double decker bridge is Rs 2600 crore. This bridge is part of the ‘Parivahan Sangam’ project.

  • Why is it needed? The old Rajghat Bridge (Dufferin Bridge), built in 1887, has completed its life and is closed for heavy vehicles.
  • Benefit: With the construction of the new bridge, connectivity to Chandauli, Bihar and West Bengal will become very easy. Cargo trucks will not have to travel around the city, which will save both time and fuel.

Kabirchaura Hospital: AIIMS like treatment will be available for 1 rupee

Varanasi’s oldest district hospital ‘Kabirchaura’ (Shri Shiv Prasad Gupta Divisional Hospital) is now going to be hi-tech. PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of Multi Super Specialty Hospital here to be built at a cost of Rs 315.48 crore. Due to the modernity of this hospital built in 1868, patients of Purvanchal and Bihar will not have to visit expensive private hospitals. They will be able to get world class health facilities at a prescription of just Re 1.

Old relation between Kashi and Modi’s road show

Road shows have always been a means of connecting with the public for Prime Minister Modi. This trend, which started from the nomination of 2014, has now reached till 2026. Be it the Assembly elections of 2017 and 2022 or the Lok Sabha elections of 2019 and 2024, the crowd that gathered on the streets of Varanasi has always been a testimony to the love of the people of Kashi for PM Modi. This time the 14 kilometer long road show is set to break all those old records.
