Ipl 2026 Angkrish Raghuvanshi Fined His Match Fees

Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been fined 20 percent of his match fee. Along with this, one demerit point has also been added to his account. Raghuvanshi has been found guilty of violating the IPL Code of Conduct during the match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) on Sunday (April 26).

During KKR’s innings, Angkrish Raghuvanshi was given out on the last ball of the fifth over for ‘obstructing the field’, after which he expressed his displeasure on the field itself. Angkrish, while returning to the pavilion, hit the bat hard on the ground in anger and threw his helmet near the boundary line. The KKR camp also appeared very unhappy with the umpire’s decision. Team head coach Abhishek Nair was also seen angrily talking to the umpires.

Actually, on the ball of Prince Yadav, Angkrish had run to score runs by playing a shot towards mid-on, but Cameron Green standing at the other end sent him back. Angkrish had dived to save his wicket, but then the fielder also threw the ball towards the stump. The throw hit Angkrish straight at his feet, after which LSG captain Rishabh Pant and the rest of the players appealed. The on-field umpires took the help of the third umpire, after which Angkrish was declared out after holding him guilty of ‘obstructing the field’.

The IPL issued a statement saying, “Kolkata Knight Riders wicketkeeper-batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee. Along with this, he has also received one demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct. Raghuvanshi has been found guilty of breaching Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which prohibits the use of cricket equipment or clothing, field equipment or during a match. The incident occurred in the 5th over, when Raghuvanshi angrily hit the boundary cushion with his bat and later threw his helmet into the dugout, admitting his mistake and accepting the punishment of the match referee.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi became the fourth batsman to be given out for ‘obstructing the field’ in the IPL. Before him, Amit Mishra, Ravindra Jadeja and Yusuf Pathan have also been given out under this rule. In this match, Angkrish was out after scoring only 9 runs after facing 8 balls. However, KKR was successful in registering victory against LSG in the match which reached the Super Over.
