America is considering Iran’s new proposal, White House said – Trump is reviewing the options

Washington, April 27. US President Donald Trump on Monday discussed with his top national security advisers a new proposal he has sent to Iran to resolve the conflict. White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt gave this information on Monday.

Caroline Levitt confirmed at a press briefing that the proposal was being examined. However, he refused to say whether this was being seriously considered. “Maybe the meeting is still going on, or maybe not, but the proposal was under discussion,” he said.

Iran ready to open Hormuz sea route, but adamant on nuclear program

It is being told that Iran’s new proposal includes reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, while it has been said to postpone the discussion on Iran’s nuclear program. However, Leavitt declined to comment on whether the administration was seriously considering the proposal. He also reiterated that President Trump’s ‘red lines’ (limits) regarding Iran are still in full force.

Referring to Iran’s suggestion of reopening the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for ending the US blockade, she said, ‘I wouldn’t say they were considering it. I would just say that discussions are going on on this.

Leavitt also confirmed that Trump had held a meeting with his national security team earlier in the day, though it was unclear whether that meeting was still ongoing. He said, ‘I am sure that you will hear directly from the President on this subject very soon.’

Marco Rubio also rejected the nature of Iran’s proposal

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also rejected the nature of Iran’s proposal, saying any arrangement that allows Tehran to control access to the strait would be unacceptable.

Iran will not decide who will use the Strait of Hormuz and at what price

In an interview with Fox News, Rubio said, ‘If by opening the strait they mean conditional access under Iranian surveillance, then that cannot be called opening the strait. “We cannot allow an arrangement in which Iran decides who gets to use an international waterway and at what cost.”

In fact, these discussions began when Trump suddenly canceled the visit plans of his envoys – Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who were to visit Pakistan over the weekend for another round of talks.

Officials were expected to consider options for the way forward, including whether to resume the US bombing campaign. The operation is currently on hold after the ceasefire was extended last week.

Trump is not in favor of taking this conflict further

In fact, Trump has publicly indicated his reluctance to escalate the conflict. He said he canceled the visit because Iran had not presented any satisfactory proposal. He further said that after the trip was canceled, Tehran came back with a revised document.
