Now the team has found his replacement. Actually, Mumbai Indians have included Keshav Maharaj in their squad as a replacement for injured Mitchell Santner. New Zealand’s left-arm spin all-rounder has been replaced by South Africa’s left-arm star spin bowler.

Maharaj joins Mumbai Indians squad

According to this, Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed South African spinner Keshav Maharaj in place of Mitchell Santner, Mitchell Santner has been ruled out of Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 due to left shoulder injury.

Santner suffered the injury while trying to take a catch near the boundary during MI’s last home match against Chennai Super Kings. Maharaj is an experienced left-arm spinner, who recently played in the T20I series against New Zealand. He has played two IPL matches playing for Rajasthan Royals in 2024. He has joined MI for a fee of INR 75 lakh.

Keshav Maharaj has played IPL before also. He played IPL for Rajasthan Royals in 2024. He has played only 2 matches in IPL so far. During this period he has got only 2 wickets. Now he would like to create a stir in the IPL on behalf of Mumbai.
