Due to increasing heat, glaciers are melting rapidly in the higher Himalayan regions due to which the water level of Dhauli river has also started increasing. Due to accumulation of debris near Tamak village, a lake like situation has arisen in Dhaili river. However, there is continuous leakage of water. District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar said that some water is getting stagnant here due to accumulation of debris.
The work of removing the debris will be started from Tuesday so that there is continuous flow of water. DM said that there is no danger from this. Debris had accumulated due to a landslide last year near Tamak village, about 40 kilometers ahead of Jyotirmath. These days, the water level of the river has increased due to the melting of glaciers in the Himalayan regions.
Due to accumulation of debris, water is accumulating here. District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar said that there is continuous leakage of water from here. The work of removing debris from JCB will also be started on Tuesday. Administration, Irrigation Department, Mining Department and other concerned agencies are continuously monitoring the spot and are fully prepared to deal with any possible situation.
