Clash between IPS Ajay Pal Sharma and Jahangir

The controversy started when Central Observer Ajay Pal Sharma received a complaint that Jahangir Khan and his men were intimidating voters. After this, Ajay Pal Sharma himself came into the field and went to Falta area and said in a strict tone that if you follow the rules, you will be benefited. Angered by this, Jahangir Khan hit back and said that the police and BJP together are threatening TMC workers and women. Jahangir, while hitting the dialogue of the film Pushpa, said that TMC people have not learned to bow down.

West Bengal elections: When the policemen started shying away from showing the way

An interesting incident in this whole matter happened when IPS Ajay Pal Sharma was searching the house of Jahangir Khan. It is being told that the local Bengal Police officers and villagers present with him were reluctant to reveal the address of Jahangir’s house due to fear or some other reason. However, Ajay Pal Sharma did not give up and searched Jahangir’s house himself. After reaching there, the officers were surprised when they saw that more soldiers than the prescribed limit were deployed at Jahangir’s house, going against the security rules.

Hunter went on extra force and got notice

West Bengal elections: Jahangir Khan has got Y category security under which he should have had 10 policemen, but 14 soldiers were found deployed on the spot. On the other hand, the police station was being told that the force was less for the elections. Ajay Pal Sharma immediately took action on this arbitrariness and sent back 4 additional soldiers from the spot. He has issued a notice to the local SP and sought answers as to why extra force was given against the rules. At present there is huge tension in Falta and the central forces are continuously busy arresting the miscreants. Do you think that the Election Commission will take action against such statements of leaders during elections?
