Plant Care Tips: People often bring plants from nurseries for home decoration and freshness, but many times the same plants start withering within a few days. In such a situation, people blame the nursery, whereas the real reason is lack of proper care of the plants. If correct methods are adopted, the plant brought from the nursery can remain green for a long time.

Horticulture expert Anand Sharma shared some important suggestions on this topic during a flower festival organized in Noida. In this programme, many varieties of plants were displayed and people were given information related to gardening.

Correct mixture of soil and manure is necessary

According to the expert, whenever the plant is planted in a new pot, it is important to balance the nutrients while preparing the soil. Adding DAP, potash and neem based elements along with organic fertilizer strengthens the roots of the plant and also provides protection from pests.

Do not expose to direct sunlight

It is not right to keep the plant brought from the nursery in direct sunlight. After coming to a new place, the plant needs some time so that it can adapt itself to the environment. Therefore, initially it is better to keep it in shade or a place with light light.

Don’t be hasty in watering

Often people harm the plants by watering them daily. Water the plant only when the top layer of soil feels dry. Also, give only so much water that a little water starts flowing from the bottom of the pot. Excessive watering can damage the roots.

Avoid fertilizing in the beginning

The new plant already comes with nutrients, so it does not need to be fertilized immediately. After a few weeks, light organic fertilizer like vermi compost or cow dung can be given.

Do not change place frequently

Keeping the plant from one place to another repeatedly affects its growth. It is better to decide on a right place and keep it stable there, so that the plant can grow comfortably. If these simple things are taken care of, the plant brought from the nursery can remain healthy and green for a long time.
