Familist and appeasement parties are afraid of women power, they do not want to allow the daughters of the country to come to the Assembly and Parliament: PM Modi

Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a women’s conference in Varanasi on Tuesday. During this, the Prime Minister said, some time ago two Amrit Bharat trains have been flagged off, from Kashi to Pune and from Ayodhya to Mumbai. These two Amrit Bharat trains will further improve the connectivity of UP and Maharashtra. Now people of entire Maharashtra including Mumbai have got another modern option to reach Ayodhya Dham and Kashi Vishwanath Dham. I congratulate the countrymen for this inauguration.

He further said, today’s occasion is not only a celebration of women power and development, a little while ago the foundation stone of projects worth thousands of crores of rupees was laid and inaugurated here. It has all types of development related projects. Besides, there are also works to increase the connectivity of Kashi and Ayodhya. The mission of making India developed is going on continuously. And when I talk about developed India, its strongest pillar is the women power of India.

The PM further said, as the MP of Kashi, as the Prime Minister of the country, I need your blessings to achieve a big goal of national interest. And this is the big goal, to implement reservation for women in Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly. Just a few days ago, because of parties like SP and Congress, our effort could not succeed in the Parliament, but I once again assure all of you sisters that I will leave no stone unturned to ensure that your reservation rights are implemented.

Women’s welfare has consistently been given top priority in the policies of our government. In 2014, when you gave us the opportunity to serve, more than 12 crore toilets were built in the country. Bank accounts of more than 30 crore sisters were opened. Electricity connections were given to more than 2.5 crore houses.
Tap water was supplied to more than 12 crore houses. This means that sisters and daughters were kept at the center of many big schemes.

Along with providing assurance of convenience and security, we have emphasized on increasing the economic participation of sisters. In the last 11 years, about 10 crore sisters of the country are associated with self-help groups, these groups are getting help worth lakhs of rupees, due to which the sisters are doing their work. Due to such efforts, 3 crore sisters have become Lakhpati Didi. In fact, all these familyists and parties immersed in appeasement are afraid of women power. These family based parties do not want to allow those daughters of the country to come to the Assembly and Parliament. Who are giving leadership on their own from college campuses to panchayats and local bodies. They know that if the daughters working on the ground come up, their control will be lost. Questions will be raised on their authority. That is why the family based parties have been at the forefront of the protests in Parliament.

PM Modi further said, when the new Parliament was formed, the first thing we did was to give 33 percent reservation to sisters. This right of the sisters was pending for 40 years, hence the Women Empowerment Act was passed in the Parliament in 2023. After the law is made, it is necessary to implement it, hence it was discussed in the Parliament recently. We brought a law to amend the Constitution. This amendment was such that after which more number of sisters could reach the Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha, but parties like Congress, SP, TMC and DMK once again betrayed the women of the country. Such parties had imposed a ban for 40 years and then red flagged it.
