Did Michael Jackson visit Pakistan?

Did you know that the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has a surprising connection to Pakistan? While the global icon himself never toured the country, his legacy recently resurfaced in Pakistan through his nephew.

The biographical film Michael has set a new benchmark for biopics, earning an impressive $217 million worldwide in its opening week, breaking previous records in the genre.

In the film, Jaafar Jackson portrays the legendary Michael Jackson. Interestingly, Jaafar visited Pakistan in 2020, spending around 10 days in cities including Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore.

During his visit, he engaged with students at universities, appeared in TV studios, attended official meetings, and met fans. In Islamabad, he also visited iconic landmarks such as Pakistan Monument and Faisal Mosque.

The film has surpassed the $180 million opening record of Oppenheimer and outperformed music biopic Straight Outta Compton, which previously held a $60 million record.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the movie also stars Colman Domingo, Nia Long, and Miles Teller.

The film has received an overwhelmingly positive response from audiences, achieving a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Reports suggest that if its global earnings continue to rise, a sequel may also be in development.
