PM Modi lands on football field: Scores ‘goal’ with youth in Gangtok, Sikkim tour boosts enthusiasm

Gangtok. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a historic tour of Sikkim these days. During this visit, a very special and heart-winning picture emerged on Tuesday morning, when the Prime Minister was seen playing football with the local youth in Gangtok. The PM shared the moment on social media platform ‘X’, calling it a “lovely and energetic start” to the day.

The visit is being held to commemorate the closing ceremony of the 50th anniversary of Sikkim’s accession to the Indian Union.

Grand Road Show: On reaching Gangtok on Monday, the PM was welcomed with a 2 kilometer long grand road show. Thousands of people dressed in traditional costumes greeted him by waving the tricolor.

Interaction with dignitaries: PM met Padma awardees and prominent personalities of the state and discussed various social and cultural topics.
