PM Modi gave a gift to Kashi-Ayodhya, Amrit Bharat Express trains will run from today

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (April 28, 2026) flagged off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains from his parliamentary constituency Varanasi between UP and Maharashtra. The first train will run between Varanasi to Pune Hadapsar and the second from Ayodhya to Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.

Religious tourism will especially get a boost   

According to media reports, the Railway Ministry has said that these two trains will prove to be a game changer for religious tourism and economic activities. Varanasi and Ayodhya attract millions of devotees every year.

With direct connectivity to big cities like Mumbai and Pune, tourism will increase and local people will get new employment opportunities. The ministry said, “It will be easy to reach Kashi Vishwanath Dham through Banaras-Hadapsar service. Whereas Ayodhya-Mumbai train will provide direct connectivity to Shri Ram Temple.”

Big relief for passengers 

Let us inform that the passengers, migrant laborers and pilgrims who travel daily by these trains will be benefited the most. Now they will not have to worry about changing trains again and again. Getting direct service will save both time and money.

Officials said that after the inaugural journey, regular operation of both the trains will be started soon. Amrit Bharat train has been designed keeping the common man in mind. Apart from being comfortable and convenient, these trains will also not be heavy on the pocket. Their fare has been kept only 15 to 17 percent more than the normal mail-express.

Route of Banaras-Pune Amrit Bharat Express 

The first journey will start from Banaras in the evening and reach Hadapsar Junction in Pune late the next day. This train will stop at 18 stations in the journey of about 30 hours. These include Gyanpur Road, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Orai, Jhansi, Bina, Rani Kamalapati, Narmadapuram, Itarsi, Harda, Khandwa, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahilyanagar and Daund.

Ayodhya-Mumbai Amrit Bharat Express route 

The first journey will start from Ayodhya Cantt in the evening and reach Mumbai LTT late in the evening the next day. This train will stop at 12 stations in the 28-hour journey. The stoppages include Ayodhya Cantt, Sultanpur, Maa Belha Devi Pratapgarh, Prayagraj Junction, Manikpur, Satna, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Nashik Road, Kalyan and Thane.
