The Saudi Arabian government has made major preparations for the pilgrims walking on foot during the Hajj pilgrimage. Kidana Development and Development Company has completed the work of resting places for Hajj pilgrims on the walking paths of the holy sites (Mashaer Muqaddasah). With this, lakhs of passengers will now get a lot of relief during their journey.

Many modern facilities have been added in these areas to improve the experience of passengers, so that they feel less tired and relaxed. This mainly includes these things:

  • Comfortable seating: Proper arrangements have been made for the passengers to sit.
  • Service Kiosk: Small stores or kiosks have been set up for immediate availability of essential items.
  • Cooling System: Misting fans have been installed with modern canopies which will keep the environment cool.
  • Rubber Flooring: Advanced rubber flooring has been used for ease of walking and comfort of feet.

How big is the scope of this project?

Kidana Company has completed this project in phases. On April 28, 2026, the company said that the work on the second phase has been completed.

  • In the second phase, 36,000 square meter area was developed.
  • In the first phase, 30,000 square meters of work had been completed.
  • Now the total developed area exceeds 66,000 square meters.
  • This is a huge increase of 220 percent compared to earlier.

The entire project is part of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Pilgrim Experience Programme. Its main objective is to make Haj pilgrimage more comfortable, easy and stress-free. Kidana Company is acting as the executive arm of the Royal Commission on Mecca City and Holy Sites.
