Aadhaar will no longer prove your age, you will have to show these documents as date of birth proof.
New Delhi. If till now you thought that your Aadhaar card issued by UIDAI is useful everywhere, then it is very important for you to read this news. According to media reports, UIDAI has issued a big statement in which it has been said that Aadhaar card cannot be used as a definitive proof of date of birth. UIDAI has clarified that Aadhaar is only proof of your identity and address, and not an official document of your age or date of birth. Let us tell you that for a long time people in the country have been using Aadhaar for all kinds of work, be it banking, school admission or government schemes. After this update, questions are arising in the minds of many people that despite having DOB in Aadhaar, why is it not valid? And if Aadhaar will not work, then what documents will be required?

Why Aadhaar is not considered DOB proof?
The biggest reason for this is that the date of birth recorded in Aadhaar is not always completely verified. According to UIDAI, many times people declare their date of birth even without solid documents or register it on the basis of guesswork. That is, the date of birth written in Aadhaar is not necessarily completely correct as per the government records. For this reason it is not considered final proof.
Not only UIDAI, but the courts and many government departments have already made it clear that Aadhaar is not a definitive proof of age or date of birth. In many cases, the courts have also said that school certificate or birth certificate is more reliable than Aadhaar.

If you need to prove your DOB, you will need to use the following valid documents:
– Birth Certificate
– 10th mark sheet (SSLC)
– Passport
– DOB certificate issued by a government official
As per UIDAI rules, DOB in Aadhaar is considered “verified” on the basis of these documents. Actually the rule is not new, but now clarity has been given regarding it. Earlier people used to use Aadhaar for every work, but now you have to be a little careful. If you do not have the correct DOB proof, then many important tasks may get stuck in the future.
