Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to take a big decision in the interest of state employees. Under the proposed changes, the promotion process will be made more simple, transparent and time-bound than before. About 9 lakh employees are expected to directly benefit from this move.
Preparation to change the cutoff date
At present the last date for determining eligibility for promotion is set for July. On this basis, the service period and qualification of the employees is assessed. But now the government is considering changing it to December. This will benefit those employees who retire in the first six months of the year and are deprived of promotion due to non-completion of service period.

With the implementation of the new cutoff date, the number of employees covered under promotion will increase. This will not only boost the morale of the employees but will also make it easier to fill the vacant posts in the departments. This proposal will soon be placed before the cabinet. After getting the approval, the new rules will come into effect and lakhs of employees of the state will start getting its benefits.

The government has directed all the departments to complete the process by organizing a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) every year by September. This will prevent delays in promotions and employees will be able to get their rights on time.
The entire process will be online
A system of making information related to promotion available on digital platforms is now being implemented. Whereas earlier there used to be delays due to paper processes, now the online system will ensure both transparency and speed.
