With the opening of this expressway, the journey to Delhi will become very short for the people of Uttar Pradesh as well as Bihar. However, at present it takes about 14 to 18 hours to travel from Delhi to Patna by road. But after connecting to the network of Ganga Expressway and Purvanchal Expressway, the travel time will now reduce to about 11 to 12 hours. Apart from this, with the help of this 594 km long expressway, the distance from Meerut to Prayagraj will now be covered in just 6 to 7 hours which earlier used to take 12 to 13 hours. Through Meerut Expressway, passengers will board the Ganga Expressway from Delhi and reach Prayagraj and then from there they will be able to move rapidly towards Bihar via Varanasi-Ghazipur.

Highlights of Ganga Expressway:

Its total length is 594 kilometers and the total cost is approximately ₹ 36,230 crore. Its maximum speed limit is 120 km/h. This expressway will pass through the districts of Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. One of its special facilities is the 3.5 km long airstrip in Shahjahanpur, where fighter planes can land.

Ganga Expressway has been made completely digitally secure. Artificial Intelligence based cameras have been installed at every distance which will monitor overspeeding and safety. Apart from this, rumble strips have been used to protect the driver from sleep or fatigue and smart toll has also been made so that due to multi-lane free-flow technology, vehicles will not need to stop at toll. This expressway will make travel accessible and convenient. Besides, the 12 industrial clusters proposed along its banks will also give a big boost to the regional economy and employment.
