Preparation for the first AI city in Uttar Pradesh, development will get a new dimension
Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Council has taken a big and futuristic step to give a new direction to the urban development of the state. The Council has approved the plan to develop the state’s first “AI City cum Business Park” in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Electronics Department. This project can give a new identity to Uttar Pradesh in the field of modern technology and information technology.
Hi-tech AI city will be built in Vrindavan scheme
This ambitious project will be developed on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in Sector-15 of Vrindavan Scheme. The council will provide about 12 acres of land for this project, the estimated cost of which is said to be around Rs 368 crore. Office space, startup hub and technology center equipped with state-of-the-art facilities will be developed in this AI city.
Partnership model with private companies
The private company for this project will be selected through the RFP (Request for Proposal) process. Revenue sharing model will be implemented with the selected company, in which the council will get 40 percent of the income from the project. The land will be given on lease for 45 years, which can be extended for another 45 years in future. In this way, this project will generate economic benefits and employment opportunities in the long run.
The project will be completed in three years
According to council officials, the construction work of AI City and Business Park is targeted to be completed in the next three years. The main objective of this project is to promote the information technology sector in the state and create new employment opportunities for the youth. Besides, it will also play an important role in attracting investors.
Budget of Rs 4173 crore passed
The council has also approved a budget of Rs 4173.66 crore for the financial year 2026-27. In this, a provision of Rs 1927 crore has been made to purchase land for new schemes. Development has been given priority in major cities, in which Rs 1000 crore has been earmarked for Ayodhya, Rs 400 crore for Varanasi, Rs 100-100 crore for Mathura and Pratapgarh.
Emphasis on infrastructure and urban facilities
Apart from this, the council will spend Rs 702 crore on the development of basic facilities like roads, drains, sewers and water. A target of raising Rs 2004 crore from the sale of properties has also been set.
